Abstract

This thesis is submitted in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Doctor of Clinical Psychology (ClinPsyD) at the University of Birmingham. This volume consists of three chapters. The first chapter is a qualitative meta ethnography examining how children who are caring for a relative with young onset dementia experience the changes within their relationship. The second chapter is an empirical study regarding whether the concept of relationship continuity can develop our understanding of how adult children experience changes in their parental relationships in the context of dementia. The third chapter contains a public domain document providing an overview of the literature review and empirical paper.
