Abstract
This volume consists of a systematic literature review investigating the evidence of computer-assisted cognitive behavioural therapy and motivational feedback interventions for problem gamblers. This is followed by an empirical study exploring the mediating effects of motivators for playing online games on play time and psychological wellbeing. Increased play time was associated with poorer psychological wellbeing, especially when there is a greater motivation for escapism. The negative impact of 'escapist' gaming was strengthened for individuals with low self-esteem.
