Abstract
In the first half of this thesis we determine the connectivity of commuting graphs of
conjugacy classes of semisimple and some unipotent elements in GL(n,q). In the second half we prove that the degree of an irreducible character of a finite simple group divides the size of some conjugacy class of the group.
