Abstract

This thesis contains three Parts: 1) a pilot script for a television miniseries about Ralph Waldo Emerson and the American Transcendentalists 2) a series bible that contains character breakdowns, summaries, and episode outlines 3) a critical element that discusses theories of adaptation and their application to nineteenth century literary history.
