Such techniques, including pair distribution function analysis (PDF) and solid state nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR) have been used in this work to investigate the structure and properties of a series of amorphous pyrophosphate phases, of biological significance to the formation of natural hard tissue, and their effect on modified calcium phosphate cement formulations.
