Abstract

A portfolio of acousmatic and mixed compositions which explores the notion of sound as a multi-dimensional object that contains space within itself, defined by its spectral components. The portfolio contains software implementations of various 3D transformation methods that operate on symbolic and spectral representations of sound. Overarching compositional approaches with regards to narration, meaning, form, texture and gesture are being discussed as well as technical and aesthetic issues related to each of the portfolio’s compositions.
