Abstract

This thesis intends to elucidate the mechanisms regulating DSCAM (Down Syndrome Cell Adhesion Molecule) alternative splicing. This gene contains 115 exons of which 95 exons are mutually exclusively spliced. Thus, it can generate 38,016 different MRNA isoforms.
