Abstract

With increase in geriatric population worldwide, demand for advanced and inventive biomaterials for fixation modalities following a bone injury has never been greater. The design and development of biodegradable and photocurable polymer systems served to address some of the main challenges and requirements that are currently being confronted by clinicians during application as well as offering a potential apparatus for tissue regeneration for better clinical outcomes. The work presented herein, is disseminated across several results chapters (3-7).

Holistically, the work presented herein puts forward the design of a novel biodegradable, photocurable, injectable and potentially resorbable with enhanced mechanical properties for bone repair and augmentation.
